Converted my Artisteer template to a Catalyst template..
Edited 01/14/2012: Here's the finished product: http://homeschoolla.org/ (http://homeschoolla.org/calendar/) (This is a re-design of the site. We initially created the re-designed template in Artisteer, then we converted it to Catalyst...)
and here's what the original Artisteer template looked like..

Looking good. :) I love to see the progression of new Catalyst users as they really start to "get" Catalyst and how to use it.

Ha!! Thanks Eric..:)
Let's be clear though..:D I "got" Catalyst from the start.. ;)
I'm getting the lay of the land now so to speak as I figure out where/how certain features translate to the Catalyst world.. I used Artisteer for a long time so I'm getting my Artisteer to Catalyst translations worked out here, and you all have been a big help.. **LOL**
Artisteer was great for generating GORGEOUS templates. The downside really was that they all needed tweaking in order to refine the placement of content elements the way you wanted, and to get some advanced content layout features you may have had to use plugins to get the job done.. (there are a TON of tutorials for creating page excerpt widgets, and custom horizontal sidebars, etc) With Catalyst, I'm not having to create a bunch of stuff after the fact to get the content placement the way I like. The template development is not only about making it pretty, but making it FUNCTION the way I want. Layout and content placement are all part of the template development toolset Catalyst provides. I'm also not relying on a bunch of "layout" plugins the same way I did when creating Artisteer templates..
So yep.. I'm getting it.. :) Seems like I'm spinning these little gems up much faster with each one I create.. :) The most common things I did with Artisteer, I have nearly nailed down "how-to" do the same/similar thing using Catalyst.. The biggest one for me was figuring out how to do my Zen Cart "wrap" template process with a Catalyst generated template.. I knew that once I got that working everything, anything that I needed/wanted to do after that would be gravy!! :)

Converted my Artisteer template to a Catalyst template..
Hey divavocals!
I have several themes from Artisteer and just purchased the Catalyst Theme and Dyna Goodies. I was wondering how to convert my Artisteer theme to the Cata?
Is this done from a simple import?
Thank you kindly dude and it appears that this Artisteer & Cata will work perfectly hand-hand w/ each other. :)
