Quite a simple site for a writer. A couple of notable features are the homepage-only header (using a separate homepage logo element) and a randomised slow-fade slider on most pages.

If you click on the German flag you'll see different "read more" lines and defined excerpts. This is from the "advanced excerpts" plug which I find very useful.

I really tried hard to use drop-caps (tried both shortcode kid and wp-dropcap plugs) but both produced all sorts of weird errors and conflicts with other plugs and in the end were simply unusable.

Nice job! Very legible font selection. The serif with the light gray background is easy on the eyes and easy to read, ideal for a writer's site, of course.
