    Smile My first Catalyst Powered Site/Blog

    Just finished my first catalyst site today... A site about classical music/composers powered by the catalyst framework. I'm pretty happy about the end result.

    http://musicreligion.com

    Feel free to let me know what you think. Rounded Corners of navigation bar will only be seen with IE 9, Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Opera. (and not with IE 6, 7 and 8, but what's new there?)

    I love the custom hooks and custom widgets areas Catalyst has to offer. And ofcourse the frontend css. The catalyst css builder combined with Firebug is extremely powerful.

    Can't wait to start my second project

    Love the background and the black and gold colours you've chosen.

    And I really love the shadow effect on the bottom corners of the footer.

    How, exactly did you achieve that? I tried to figure it out with Firebug, to no avail...

    Cheers

    Hello Dawson,

    For the shadow effect:
    1. just make a custom hook box in "advanced options" in catalyst. Call it for example shadowybottom , use the "catalyst_hook_after_footer" hook and link it to all your layouts (in case you have more than one)
    2. In the field below just mak a div such as
    <div id="footershadow"></div>
    3. in your CSS builder just add the following CSS
    #footershadow {
    position: absolute;
    background: url('http://almightydomains.com/images/shadow.png') bottom left no-repeat;
    height: 32px;
    width: 960px;
    }

    that should do the trick... (Just download the shadow image to your own server, don't use the one at almightydomains since that's my domain )

    Cheers

    Wow this site looks awesome and so professional! Did you design the curtains and everything? I'm in awe! I wish I could do something like this for my own site...

    Beautiful stuff - really great job!

    Agree with Dawson, the shadow under the footer works really well. Very nicely done.

    Only little thing in my browser is that the three custom headings you've put in are quite soft against the rest of the graphics which are crisp and well defined (Welcome to... Latest Blog Posts and Featured Composers.)

    Really looking forward to seeing some more of you work!
