Yes, I too would like to know how you achieved the hover effect on the header.
Oh, the hover effect is done with a very simple css only transition that slides the header bg image position property up on hover and back down on mouse out...

Very nicely done. Some great graphical touches and super use of photography. On a personal level, I'm digging the colour palette too, super fresh!
