Lovely stuff my friend... Very nice indeed ! Love the Nav on the Detroit Revival Church site...... It's given me a bit of inspiration
"There are 10 kinds of people that view binary code, there are those that understand it and those that don't"
Great work John.
Your own site and the Detroit Revival Church sites are the stand-outs for me for sure, though they are all great.
Congratulations on being able to come up with such a straightforward pricing structure. That's something the I and others struggle to get under control.
Really nice work!
Lovely designs. Love them all but Detroit Revival with its drop down navbar is amazing. Burton Sites has a similar navbar design too.
Nice sites. Nav text is very small & low contrast for my taste, but otherwise; like.
Thanks, I really appreciate it! Landing on my pricing for www.burtonsites.com took a while... but, I think I found the sweet spot. It's still lower than other custom design companies, but not so low that it communicates 'amateur'.
Also, FYI, I require full payment up front... which removes all billing hassles... and, in a separate survey they fill out after their purchase, there are some upsells... which can bring in another $700 or so. None of it is necessary, but it is available. Just thought I'd share some of my success stories for other designers out there!
Oh, and Catalyst BY FAR has been my best purchase for my business. I can't say enough.
hi I am in the learning process so take what I say with a grain of salt.
I really like the rolling recent facebook posts. The images are very nice.
The home page of hccmarinecit has no Meta description,or meta keywords, It has no H1,H2,H3 tags
you have 44 alt attributes that are empty out of 46 images. Your text to html ratio is too low. These are
Seo things That I am working on with my sites right now.
You can view what I am working on at www.wcsjobshop.com it is still a long ways from what I want and need but it is in process.
Thanks...yeah, that's actually intentional, believe it or not. To keep my prices low, I don't include any manual SEO work on my part. The clients are given two choices... either, they can do it themselves, which is quite easy... or, they can buy an upsell and I'll do it for them. My package includes installation, layout and six custom designed graphics (sliders, etc.). They add their own pages, content, posts, etc.
I've found that the simpler the process on my end, the lower I can keep my rates, the faster the turnaround and the happier the clients are. But, for those who want more, that option is available to them.
You can see my upsells and survey if you want to borrow some ideas: www.burtonsites.com/survey
Nice setup and nice survey too. Quick question if you don’t mind answering. Since you charge $20/mth for hosting, are you using MT’s gs service for hosting and getting a discount from them or reselling from dv or some other arrangement?
